Letters to Santa
HO! HO! HO!
Who: Children of all ages
What: Letters to Santa
When: Must be Mailed by December 1st
(Please include a self addressed stamped envelope)
Where: Santa Claus, P.O. Box 1025 ,
Frankfort , KY 40602-1025
Parents,
Wouldn't your child be thrilled to receive a personalized letter from Santa Claus this year? All you have to do is have your children send a letter to Santa at his workshop address above, including their name, age, and favorite toys or activities, so santa can personalize his letter back to them. Please remember to include a self addressed stamped envelope and mail by December 1st, so Santa will have plenty of time to get their letter written and will know where to mail his letter so that they receive it before Christmas! He's already looking forward to hearing from the little angels and writing each one of them back!!
58th Annual Christmas Parade, Dec 2nd
It is time for the 58th Annual Frankfort Jaycees Christmas Parade! This is a holiday tradition that we are proud to coordinate again this year with our parade sponsor, American Founders Bank. Together, we look forward to ringing in the 2006 holiday season.
We're also going to be needing for volunteers to help with parade line-up and of course the clown-costumed candy throwers. Volunteers will need to be available from 4:30 p.m. until at least 7 p.m. on that Saturday. Please consider helping with this holiday tradition!!
Because the Christmas season brings about memories of hearth and home, this year's parade theme is Home for the Holidays. We know the parade participants will create wonderful floats that are reminiscent of what Home for the Holidays means to them.
If you have any other questions, questions, please feel free to contact Nakeyae Street at (502) 227-4202 or Laura Sudduth at (502) 227-5047.

Vampire Blood Drive
I just wanted to let you all know of the upcoming "Vampire Blood Drive" the Frankfort Jaycees are hosting. It will be this Sunday, October 29th from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. on St. Clair Mall. The American Red Cross goal is 25 donors. Our goal is only 20.
The Florida Jaycees have sent a challenge that if we can get 26 donors, they will also donate $5 per donor to the American Red Cross! (Which stemmed from an ARC employee being a member of the Florida Jaycees, but has transferred to Louisville.)
The first 20 donors will also get a coupon for a free appetizer at a local restaurant. We have 3 donors committed so far. If anyone is willing to donate their blood for a good cause, please let me know, so I can know how many to expect on the 29th. Just think, it could be you or your loved ones that needs the blood next! You never know what your future holds!
Thanks! Dawn Woods dolfun6571@yahoo.com

2006 Haunted House Update
The Haunted House is starting to take shape. It's looking good down there. Brandon and Nathan need help with construction though. There is plenty to be done and don't worry if you don't have any construction skills. We always need help with taking out the trash, sweeping, cleaning up props, etc.
Other committee's have been hard at work too. Contact Kristi Hoover, fairykisses0219 at yahoo.com, to help with sponsorships, or Jeff Hayden, jhayden at kheaa.com to help with the marketing efforts.
Check out the Haunted House's MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/frankfortjchauntedhouse
Capital Rally, Sept 23
The Capital Rally has become a Frankfort tradition during election years.
It's traditionally been held in late September - and has been hosted by the City of Frankfort for the past few events....but since it could be considered a potential conflict of interest for city government to be hosting an event where there are city candidates, there's been a changing of the guard this year.
The Capital Rally is now being hosted by the Frankfort Jaycees - and what a GREAT opportunity this is for us!!
This year's Capital Rally will be held on Saturday, September 23.
If you're interested in helping with this event - let me know. We're needing people to help with public relations (ads, fliers, PSA's, etc.), coordinating exhibit space, event set-up/strike, etc.
Come on out... even if it's just to find out more information. Your ideas and feedback are needed and wanted. This is OUR event now... let's make it one of Kentucky's premier political rallies this year!

Frankfort Expo June 1-3
The Frankfort Expo, one of our first big money makers of the year is just around the corner. It requires a great deal of man/woman power as well a Jayteen power. Rob Faesy is chairperson of the beer booth and Nate Hedger is chairperson of the food booth. Both currently have schedules.
You can schedule with Rob at 607-0303 or his cell is 330-2036. Nate Hedger can be reached at 229-9891.
I would like to see as much participation as possible. When we are short handed, it makes for a long day for a few people. If you can jump in and help, please give one of these gentlemen a call.
Thanks,
Mark

we are still hosting the Stewart Home Dance... YES, WE ARE! It will be this

should be there by 5:30. We are bringing apple cider and sugar free cookies,

May is National Foster Care Month
Did you know that May is National Foster Care Month? In honor of this, the
Frankfort Jayteens, with the support of the Frankfort Jaycees, are running
"Luggage 4 Love", a luggage drive to collect gently used suitcases, duffel,
tote and garment bags, backpacks and plastic storage bins. We will be
donating the luggage to Social Services to disperse to kids in foster care,
who generally don't have anything to move their belongings in. Do you
realize that some young kids and teenagers have lived in more homes & families
than you've ever lived as an adult? Sometimes foster kids have to move 5-6
times in one school year. Can you imagine how that would feel? Please dig
into your closets, storage barns and wherever you push things to the side
and find it in your hearts to donate your long lost luggage to make your
trash someone else's treasure! Remember, "LUGGAGE 4 LOVE" will support
kids in foster care right here in your community. "Luggage 4 Love" will
be an ongoing event with several drop off points across the community
between May and July 16th. (Skatorama, Dr. Paula Hernandez' Optometry
office located within the Frankfort Wal-Mart, Hair Etc. @ 698 Teton Trail
and Faesy III Tax Professionals located @ Mero St across from the new State
Department of Transportation building). We will have one large drop off
point on July 16th (location is still to be determined) where you can also
drive by and donate as much as you would like to your friendly Frankfort
Jayteens for this good cause. For more information, please call 502-594-7314
or check out our website at www.frankfortjaycees.com. Thank you in advance
for your generous support and helping the Frankfort Jayteens and Jaycees
prove that "...SERVICE TO HUMANITY IS THE BEST WORK OF LIFE"!!
